Coming in November: Blake High School Stage Company presents The Little Mermaid, the musical adaptation of Disney’s 1989 film, with music by Alan Menken. You won’t want to miss the story of Ariel, the little mermaid who is tired of flipping her fins and longs to be part of the fascinating world on dry land. Joining her are: Sebastian, Ariel’s crabby sidekick; her loyal friend, Flounder; the ever-optimistic seagull, Scuttle; Triton, King of the Sea and a host of other entertaining sea creatures. The curious young mermaid falls for a handsome human prince and agrees to a dangerous bargain with Ursula, the powerful sea witch, in exchange for legs and a chance to live with the prince on land.

Blake Stage Company will be performing Noises Off on March 24-April 1. (See below for dates & times.) Called the funniest farce ever written, Noises Off presents a manic menagerie as a cast of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called Nothing’s On. This hilarious romp about the on – and off – stage shenanigans of a mediocre acting troupe is a tour de force of precise timing and comic ability. Slamming doors, feuding actors, missed cues, girls in their underwear, guys in their underwear and errant plates of sardines are all part of the choreographed chaos.
